dentist. what to major in?

ok so id like to be a dentist but have no idea where to start... i have no college experience and all i have is my ged. i didnt finish highschool. idk what to major in or minor in or any of that. the classes required to get into medical college of ga for dentistry are:
1 Academic Year of biology
1 academic year of general or inorganic chem
1 academic year of advanced chem: organic or biochem
1 A Y of physics
1 A Y or the portion of an academic year required for the baccalaureate degree at an accredited american college or university. ( i have NO idea what kind of degree that is...)

anyway what would i regester for as my major or minor at the first college?
also would i need other classes such as math and whatnot? i guess i would need that anyway for a 4 yr bachelors degree.
thanks for any help guys. i havent been in school for a couple years but id really like to get back in. im 19 and already behind on my academic plan that i had set for myself years ago.

Sounds like you need to speak with an advisor at the school you plan to attend. You don’t need to register with a major/minor at all - starting off with an undeclared major might be the best route. Contact your local community college or university to set up an appointment with an advisor - whichever type of school you’re planning on attending will probably need you to fill out their enrollment form/application first. Your local community college may have an office or advisor that deals specifically with students who have earned their GEDs and are now ready to move on into college. Good luck!

PS - You’re not behind on your academic plan - it sounds like you know what you want more than a lot of 19 year olds.

Yup, speak with and advisor. My father certainly didn’t light it up in High School (though he was serious in college and majored in Chemistry) and he has enjoyed a nice career as a dentist. Keep those grades up!
