<p>Is there some resource(s) out there that exist for finding university admission statistics on a department basis? Do all schools publish this? If so, where? If not, don't public universities have to publish them? </p>

<p>For the most part, no. Exceptions include Duke and UNC. One resource I found valuable was “Peterson’s Graduate Programs in the Biological Sciences.” It lists some admission numbers (usually just numbers of applications and acceptances). I think it’s self reported, so not all programs give even that much. There’s a whole series, so if you’re not in bio, find the one that fits (Engineering, physical sci, humanities, ect). And if you buy last year’s edition, it’ll be a LOT cheaper.</p>
