<p>Does anyone know anything about merit aid from individual departments? I am particularly interested in scholarships from the College of Chemical and Life Sciences. I am a semifinalist for the BK scholarship, but if that falls through and I don't win it I want to know if I can get any other aid (in addition to the 8k/yr from BK semi).</p>
<p>i actually called that department a couple days ago about scholarships and they told me that they did not have any for undergards....:( btw are u in-state?</p>

<p>I think the engineering dept has more money than others. I know a couple people who have gotten scholarships through Engineering.</p>

<p>Engineering's the one I've always heard mentioned as being generous. However, some depts. give scholarships to returning students, not freshmen (i.e., Computer Science).</p>
<p>yea engineering is quite generous. i got a scholarship from them. between that and the president's scholarship i am only paying room and board. you do have to apply separately for it. it should be on a flyer somewhere with the maryland planner i think...</p>
