Has anyone received a merit scholarship from College of engineering?

When do they expect to send out Engineering scholarship notifications?

I’ve been eagerly checking my mailbox for weeks, hoping one would show up at our house, but no luck so far. Has anybody heard anything at all about engineering scholarships? I had the impression that they were relatively plentiful a couple of years ago, but I’m a bit afraid that they will be scarce this year.

I was told by the engineering dept very few scholarships for freshman this year. Most donors want scholarships to go to students that have completed their first year in engineering dept. Also told all scholarships would be awarded by April 1st

Has anyone heard from Engineering about scholarships yet?

If you got one, you should be hearing soon. I just got my letter today!

$2,000 per year for 2 years. I don’t know whether it goes towards the first two or the last two.

BBD where do you live and if you dont mind did you get any other scholarships?

I recieved the same amount yesterday. I live in Gaithersburg, MD and also recieved a $1500 scholarship. Good luck!

I live in Baltimore, MD.

I haven’t received any other information about financial aid from UMCP.

Sent from my Eris using CC App

you should be able to go to your financial aid page and see the package they have set up for you

My son got his merit award with his acceptance letter

I just checked and it says they haven’t received my FAFSA, even though I filed it months ago… I’ll have to call them tomorrow.

33dmjjm: How do you get to a financial page that has your scholarships? When I log in, all I see is the admitted to engineering college and the confirm enrollment / housing links.

spret1026: Mind saying what your SAT score was? I remember reading months ago that the scholarships were usually given to people with 1500+, and was wondering what an accepted person earned on the test. If you do not want to say though, that’s fine.

Go to [Office of Student Financial Aid](http://www.financialaid.umd.edu/) and you can see your financial packet

Does that require a FAFSA to have been filled out? The most obvious link asks for a directory ID and password, which I have no clue about. I think this is the wrong link though because it says that it is for current students currently in a database and when I searched for my name, nothing showed up.

May just call or email someone tomorrow. I was told I got a President’s scholarship, but I am unsure of the amount since I never got a physical letter or email.

exactly same thing happened to me. I found out the amount of my presidential scholarship on the financial aid link that I posted

How did you get a user name and password? Unless I am clicking the wrong thing because the link is just a homepage.

I just set one up…

Guess I was typing my SSN wrong last night… Seems I did not get a departmental scholarship :(

I got my scholarship info with my acceptance (I applied priority deadline, maybe that helped)
