DePaul University Audition Question

Hello! I auditioned at the Illinois High School Theatre Festival with one monologue and one song, and received callbacks from a number of schools, including DePaul University, which I had already applied to. My audition was already scheduled, and it is now coming up. When I met with the DePaul auditors for my callback meeting, they told me that my actual scheduled audition would count towards my actual admission decision, and that I could use the same monologue or a different one. Do you think it would be best to stick to the one I already performed with, or would I be better off showcasing something else? Was my callback a sign that they liked that piece and I’d have a good chance at admission if I performed it again, or do you think the callback really didn’t matter and my monologue choice won’t make a difference? Thank you for your insight!

Do you have additional monologues that you have practiced that are as polished as the one you did for them previously? It wouldn’t hurt to have an extra monologue ready in case they want to hear more, but I would suggest since they gave you a call back based on the original monologue maybe its wise to go with that one. We don’t have experience with DePaul auditions so hopefully others will offer advice. Congrats on your callback/audition BAL!
