hi everybody

I'm a foreign student and I'm applying to go to Juilliard and I have an audition in December, I'm really nervous as I dont know the process for students I know enough about the audition process and call backs but what's in the form that you have to fill out when u have to go to call backs. What are classes like and how long are they. I have my classical monologue picked out and I'm going with Shakespeare but I'm have trouble picking out my contemporary monologue I'm looking for something funny if any could help I would be very grateful, also if anyone know very good Performing Arts colleges in New York and L.A. please do feel free to help me out.
Thank you very much if u got any information please feel free to tell me

SInce your audition isn’t until December, you still have PLENTY of time to get ready.

Be sure you read all the instructions and advice that Juilliard has, and make sure you do whatever they say.

A form that you have to fill out for callbacks? I’ve never heard of such a thing. If it exists I am sure that it is just a form with just basic information.

Acting classes tend to be a lot of fun. They tend to involve playing a lot of silly games. And any college classes will make sure that you are left with plenty of time to do whatever out-of-class “homework” that you need. But the homework for an acting class is usually “get together with your scene partner and practice your scene.”

Keep reading lots of contemporary plays for your contemporary. If Juilliard hasn’t given you any specific definition of “contemporary”, make sure you are looking at plays from about, say, the last 50 years in which people speak the same way as people do today. (But if Juilliard has some rules, be sure you obey those). If you can think of some contemporary comic playwrights that you like, go and read everything they have written, maybe you will find a good monologue in one of their lesser-known works.
