I'm also wondering. Thanks!

I've heard the Harvard doesn't require a deposit when you accept admission. As far as I can tell, the acceptance deposit is usually to encourage students to stay off waiting lists at other colleges, but I don't suppose Harvard has a huge problem with students who spurn Harvard for the chance at a waiting list at another college. Not that it doesn't happen, but undoubtedly at a much lower frequency than normal.

I was thinking about doing the cleaning crew pre-orientation for some extra cash, but then I realized that I could make more money by staying home and working for that last week, so I'm skipping out. As such, I have no advice on that front.

no deposit required when I said yes a couple weeks ago.
personally, I don't want to be going even more into debt, so I'm doing dorm crew instead of the outdoor program. you bond just as much, plus you're getting paid, and there's always the chance of having a mind-blowing experience on campus for free whenever you want.

The pre-orientation groups (FUP, FOP, etc) as well as Dorm Crew all provide great opportunities to meet friends in a small group before the masses arrive. They are highly recommended.
