UCI is a school that looks good on paper, and my numbers seem to suggest I shall be accepted, but I have no idea what campus life is like. Party hardy? Study all day? What's the attitude towards academics overall? What do people do for fun?

ive been here for 3 weeks. for fun i have-

ate other ppl's asian snacks
tried to jump up and touch the ceiling with my elbow
play hours of computer games
go to events to get free t-shirts
hunt for bunnies
steal candy from RA's dorm
pool/foosball
arc to exercise

legs are killing me from all the walking

i live in mesa court. most ppl dont study too much. (neither do I). everybody goes home on the weekends. gets really boring here.
if you really want party, you will find it. but there isnt that much goin on around the dorms (atleast where i live). all in all,
nice campus, nice people. classes are manageable. i guess i like it here.

I came to UCI knowing all about the stereotypes-Irvine is boring, there's nothing to do, too many Asians, etc. I've been here for three weeks and love it. Most days consist of me waking up just in time to roll out of bed and go to class. Finish up classes, go the ARC, and just hang out. I haven't studied a whole lot yet and the classes seem manageable.

If you want to party you will find it. I'm pledging a fraternity and believe me if you want to party you can. Been to a couple parties in VDC as well as Newport and Irvine. All in all, I'm really happy with my choice.

"tried to jump up and touch the ceiling with my elbow"

time well spent.

chexmixbbq, were you able to do it? I did that last year too. I got hops compared to most people :]. That shhh was easy haha. I'm not even tall.

its been about a week, i still can't do it =( friends say i need to do jumping exercises? we actually got in trouble from the RA from jumping too much at 3am. lol @ quiet hours, nobody gives a dam wat time it is around here =D
