Can anybody tell me who currently attends, previously attended, or just knows a lot about the school, whether the commuter campus rumors are true about this campus? Many people have told me the school is great academically, however the “college experience” is lacking.
And are there a lot of things to do and see at the school?
Do you mean the University of Chinese Immigrants?
Lol jk but UCI is almost half Asian and most Asians don’t go to sporting events so that is where it is lacking… From what I have heard, the college experience is still alright. I mean it won’t be a party school if that was what you are expecting.
I didn’t go there, but I am a Irvine resident, and the city of Irvine in general is…well…pretty much dead most of the time. I’ve lived here for 16 years since 2001 and there’s hardly anything exciting that happens here.
Went there and it’s what you make it. Close to the beach and Newport which is great with lots to do. Greek life is fun and pretty active so if that appeals to you I would look into rushing. City is super safe, pretty and has great weather. But if looking for a big city, not the place for you. It’s a good school and can be fun if you put a little effort into it. Good luck!
Safe place to study and it’s a very clean homey town. Grew up in Irvine, spent a lot of time around campus and have friends who attended there so I’m familiar with the campus vibe. Overall, just a positive and bright place that might require some digging to do to find a “fun” thing to do. I find fun from being out in the sun, walking around the parks, dancing ballet in the plaza’s studio nearby. The college experience isn’t much to miss out on honestly, it’s the life you’re able to construct yourself from the opportunities in college that is worthwhile
