I'm a little unsure about what to write about for the essay that is supposed to best describe who you are. Would it be a horrible idea to use my common app essay for it? My essay was about going on a trip with my father after he was diagnosed with cancer and visiting Notre Dame, which was a turning point in my decision to study Medieval Studies. I've already written a whole why essay about how much I love their medieval studies program, though, and I don't want them to read this essay and feel that I didn't describe enough of myself. Would it be better to talk about a lot of things in my life (my friends, my favorite activities, my political beliefs, etc.) or to send in an essay that just focuses on what part of my personality (ie: my common app essay)?

I'm using my Common App essay. It just says "a brief personal or creative essay which you feel best describes you."

I used my common app essay as well. It fits!

I used this Georgetown essay for the Common App!
