The schools included in the title are those that have offered me the admission.

I know that most of you would suggest RISD as the best choice but I may not be able to aford it. That's why I did not apply to other art schools as well.

So, I write here to call for your suggestions and informations on the design major at the listed schools. the courses, recognition, career development.etc.... Thank you a looooooooot!

(more information:
RISD/ Graphic Design
U Cincinnati-DAAP/ Interior Design
Drexel/ Graphic Design
Syracuse/ Arch(but may also not able to aford the tuition, because it cut all the scholarships for us intl students )

Honestly, it depends on the type of design that you like. Graphic Design is VERY different from Interior Design.

Seconly, Graphic Design at Cincinnati is VERY good too. They have the strongest coop program among those schools listed by you. This provides a lot of benefits:

Great Resume upon graduation

Great experience that will fill the academic holes
3.Great contacts for potential job if you do a great job.

In today's economy, getting strong contacts through coops should NOT be underestimated. It is highly beneficial.
In addition, Cincinnati is probably the least expensive among the schools mentioned, which is a BIG deal especially in a bad economy.

Thank you taxguy.
Yes, I think Cincinnati is indeed a good choice. But do you mean its Interior Design is WAY worse than its Graphic Design? Personally speaking, I prefer architecture to interior/graphic design, and I applied to DAAP at this order of intended majors. But Cincinnati admitted me to its Interior Design program fianally, and ,,,,,,do you think I should try to change my major into graphic design? (I think I like both of the two equally.)

Taxguy is NOT saying that DAAP's Interior Design program is worse -- much less "way worse" -- than the graphic design program. He's not making any judgment at all about the relative strengths of the two programs.

What he is saying -- and I agree with him -- that interior design and graphic design are two very, very different subjects. So we can't compare graphic design at RISD or Drexel versus interior design at DAAP. Or architecture at Syracuse for that matter.

If you really prefer architecture, then why didn't you apply to RISD or Drexel as an architecture major?

Thank you a lot worried_mom and taxguy.
I didn't apply to the architecture program at Drexel because its coop program of architecture do not enroll internationals. As for RISD, I also apply to the RISD/Brown program, but this program does not alow students to major in arch at RISD.

Therefore, the result is as it is. But I'm not bond to architecture.

I think RISD is a good place if you going to study Architectre, but as you mentiond the bad ecnomic situation globally, how about the financial assistance in RISD like?

Coolfireball, I'm sad to say that RISD isn't know for giving a lot of financial aid, especially merit based aid. With Today's economic meltdown of endowments, I would think that many private schools, such as RISD, will be providing even less aid than before.

I currently go to Syracuse and I love it. The Architecture program here is VERY good but also EXTREMELY intense.

Syracuse actually has one of the best Communications Design program in the nation. If you're interested in that sort of thing then I'd definitely suggest looking into that.

That's too bad about the financial situation though! They were pretty good with giving scholarships for my year but times are definitely tough now.

I'd say a "well known school" will NEVER be worth it if you're going to end up in major major debt. Just make sure you're at a school where it feels right and that you can afford because college isn't just about your major. A lot of it is what you experience/get out of it. Good luck making a decision!
