UMich Art vs. Cincinnati's DAAP

I wonder whether anyone might in a somewhat general fashion be able to compare the respective art programs at Univ of Michigan and University of Cincinnati (DAAP). Daughter has been accepted to both and is having some difficulty arriving at a decision (even as the deadline for response approaches).

Thanks in advance for any input you may provide (and which may perhaps aid D in her decision)... drd

You can start off by looking at TaxGuy's report from a few years back:

Overview of Univ. of Cincinnati: College of DAAP Part I

In my judgment, if UC was located in the suburbs of Cincinnati, it would be the perfect school for Art Majors. Many of its facilities are top-notch including CCM. Its inner-city location gives many pause. They're trying to revitalize its surrounding, but its a slow and frustrating process.

I agree with Post number 2. In fact, I have just updated that thread and put my comments into the "College Visit" forum for University of Cincinnati.

Also, from what I know about University of Michigan, they have a strong fine arts department ,but DAAP has a much better department for most areas of design. Also, if you are from Ohio, you can't beat the instate tuition for UC. I don't think that Michigan is that much better for fine art to justify the tuition differential.
