Destination Tulane

Is anyone else attending Destination Tulane this weekend (3/16)? We are very excited! My son is spending Saturday night on campus as well so the grown ups get a night on Bourbon Street! :-)

Does your S know someone in the dorm or did you set something up with admission to be able to spend the night? I thought destination Tulane was just during the day.

We are also heading to NOLA for Destination Tulane. We arrive on Sunday and leave Tuesday. Hoping this trip will help my D make her decision! Very excited.

Destination Tulane was great! My son spent Saturday night on campus and is ready to commit. middlechld, he has a friend from home who attends.

Congrats ExterMama!

We will be attending Destination Tulane the week of the French Quarter Festival and are very excited. Because it is our spring break, we will be there a full week. We are staying at Terrill House, a bed and breakfast on Magazine Street. My question is whether or not we should rent a car. We plan to split our time between exploring Tulane and exploring NOLA, with a day fighting crowds at the French Quarter Festival. I have heard the St Charles Streetcar is not working completely. Is there any advantage to having a car or will we find we really don’t need it? How available and expensive are taxis? Thanks!

Socamom17, we rent a car every time we go down there, and I like having a car, but that is what I am used to. We have used the car to travel to different plantations, visit NOMA, and other areas outside the city.
There are many on here who don’t rent cars, and they also have a wonderful time. There are a ton of tours available.
I know the taxi cost is around 33.00 RT from the airport and they are easy to use.

If you do rent a car, be advised that NOLA uses cameras to tickets drivers. And I think there are some cameras around the school.
