What year is your kiddo?? We are doing Thurs nite- Sunday evening.

My d is a junior. I can't wait to see her! Tried to get there Friday, but work interfered.

I assume from your posts, you're flying down. Being in PA, how difficult is the flying back and forth to NOLA? We're all impressed with Tulane, but I'M having problems with the flying thing. Are there shuttles for the students, etc.?
Thanks

My Ss never had a problem getting from the airport to school. (or vice versa) If they didn't have a friend to give them a lift, there's a shuttle service with a desk located at baggage claim that will take you to campus (not sure of the current cost). Or often there would be other Tulane students on the flight to share a cab to campus (about $30). It's about a 15-20 minute ride from the airport to campus.

Catching a ride has never been a problem. That shuttle is $10 and you can call and they will pick you up on campus and at the end of each quarter you sign up for the shuttle and it cruises through campus about every hour. On the trip back, S goes to the taxi stand wearing his Tulane cap and everyone joins in to share a cab, he has never needed the shuttle from the airport to the campus since all the students return in the same 12 hour or so timeframe.

I'm a PA (Philly) parent with a child at Tulane. Our rule when looking at colleges was that she could consider schools with a nonstop flight option -- no connections. Tulane matched those credentials -- and she is quite happy there. However, I will say that while there are 3 nonstops daily from Philly, they are not at the most convenient times. As an example, the latest nonstop leaves NOLA at 3:00 PM, making it impossible to get a night flight out after an afternoon exam. It hasn't been a major problem, just a minor irritant upon occasion. On the positive side, the fares have been more reasonable than I had expected.

Thanks for all your responses
