Is there a way to find out how many early decision acceptances were given from University of XYZ ?
For the previous year, yes. That data is part of a college’s Common Data set that is submitted to the Dept of Ed annually. Most college research sites provide this info. Some colleges publish this on their own site as well (e.g. http://www.wellesley.edu/sites/default/files/assets/departments/admission/pdf/admission_report2016.pdf)
PM me if you need more details.
Thanks for trying to help, but as the title says ‘for determining regular decision’. In other words, not for past years but instead for this year. Thank you.
Sometimes, a specific school may have a press release etc. announcing ED outcomes. For instance, I just googled Amherst ED acceptance rates, and saw a Feb 2015 article in the student paper announcing ED acceptance rate for the class of 2019 – so that admissions cycle.
Schools typically don’t publish EA/ED acceptance data until well after the RD period is over and the class for the upcoming year is formed. However, most schools accept a similar number of ED/EA applicants year-to-year, so if 25% of the class was accepted EA/ED last year, expect a similar number this year.
