I am trying to decide between Dickinson College (PA) and Clark University (MA).

Which has a stronger science department?

Which would you choose to attend and why??

and any current students, plz share opinions also.

Please help.

Thanks

my friend attends dickinson and she hates it, but it's mainly because she has a very mean personality and really isn't social.

Dickinson probably has somewhat stronger sciences, but as Liek has alluded, it really depends on the fit for the individual student. The student bodies at these two schools are pretty different, as are their locations. I would suggest a visit to each school to see where your friend feels most comfortable.

Sounds like a good friend you have, Liek0806.

Dickinsin is much more prestigious.

The students at Dickinson quite preppy and often upper-middle class while the students at Clark seem like more of a range of types with the majority seeming laid-back and somewhat hippie-ish.

Dickinson is located in a small town in PA while Clark is located in a small (rather rundown) city of Wooster, Mass. The campuses are also quite different asthetically. Dickinson looks like the quintessential mid-atlantic college with grassy lawns and gray stone buildings while Clark has brick red buildings and little greenery (I found it kinda depressing..)

Also, Dickinson is centered around a frat scene while Clark doesn't have any greek life and probably has more variety in its social life.

Carolyn: Would you agree with NYLibertine's assessment? Thanks.

i think my friend hates it for that reason, the fact that she isn't preppy and of upper middle class. it's not a good fit for her. I think the best thing to do is actually visit the schools and see which one fits better for you.

Dickinson is a good school. I've never even heard of Clark.

thanks for the responses.

i have another question... I searched all over the internet but I can't seem to figure out which is more prestegious?? Like which school has stronger academics? and is more well known

thanks again for all your help.

yeah, i'd definitely go with dickinson, unless you're really anti-preppy or something
