Did anybody else not like Stanford's App

I liked Stanford's app for the essays, but I really disliked how there was no room for the ECs and awards. I wish I could have explained them further. Then again, to me, the common app was worse because the essays were just horrible for that.

I liked Stanford's app. It would've been better if they offered interviews, but I guess that's unnecessary, since they're getting all the relevant info from your three (or even four) recommendations

yeah i actually liked it....the essays were definitely better than pretty much every other typical essay out there....hahaha i didnt even know there were labels until after i turned in my app...yeah and about the EC thing...it was nice for me cuz i didnt fill up all the EC slots and the fact that they made me write an essay about one of 'em was perfect cuz i put most of my time into one EC....lucky me, i guess.

i liked it in that i liked the writing topics far better than the other apps. does anybody know if submitting supplemental stuff would get you rejected? i'm not sure because i did a lot of it in a rush, but i think i did send out some articles i wrote just because i did for every private (except usc). i didn't know we couldn't and i saw a label that said "supplemental materials" and just thought that meant we could. ack.

Princeton's was my favorite. Stanford's app was not so much the problem as the deadline was. I wrote two of my three essays the morning of Dec 15th in the school library while skipping biology. The questions were specific enough to demand I write something just for the Stanford app (as opposed to modifying and reusing my Yale early action essays), but with such limited time and too much else going on right before winter break, I sent in what I thought was my crappiest application work.

And I like the no supplement rule. No application can ever capture a completely holistic view of an applicant, it's simply meant to highlight one's best aspects. A good applicant should be able to pick and choose those aspects well.

^^ i disagree. allowing supplements allows full explanation of activities, say a business that was started. my one gripe was a lack of an interview cuz stanford is my DREAM school and i know it woulda helped.

even though, i suppose, the roomate essay prompt was meant to be a fun sort of question, i spent every minute while writing the essay freaking out that they were going to analyze every word in the essay so it turned out kind of contrived.
