wow!
our school has a really nice atmosphere to take the tests in. we take in in the second gym which away from all the hussle and bussle. The proctors are really good and they make sure everyone can see the clock. we have a big timer (i think thats what you call these) clock thingy that everyone can see. we get nice desks and everyone is like at least 4 feet away from each other

My school put my AP Stats test in the band room.......which has NO REAL DESKS. Only these stupid fold out things which were waaaaaayyyyyyy too small, the test booklet didn't even fit on it. Trying to balance my test booklet, answer sheet, calculator, pens and pencils on this tiny desk was IMPOSSIBLE. It got so bad, that one kid took his test on the bass drum and another on a snare. Then, at the end of the day all the kids came into get their instruments and made noise. ARGHHHHH it was frustrating and miserable!

The room I took the test in is called the GIR (Group Instruction Room). With the exception of the Jackhammering problem, I've been fine w/ it on all my other APs. Alternate testing locations in my school are the Principal's conference room (for the few self-studiers) and the library (for smaller AP groups while the GIR is being used by larger AP groups). Eh..... w/e, I only have the alternate Bio test and I'm done for good! :)

The majority of my tests were taken in the gym of my school where stuff echos really loudly. Of course everyone else was still going about the regular school day, so the bells and warning bells were still going off, so I'd suddenly jump as it happened. What's horrible is the daily announcements still went. It's annoying to listen to normally, but being trapped with a loud echo is probably worse.

When I took the SATIIs they were doing lawnmowing nonstop.

Well, during my AP exam nothing of that sort cropped up..

HOWEVER, when I looked across the room this guy was laughing and drawing whales while flashing them at his friend. It was extremely disturbing and not at all healthy for me since we were still taking the exam.. :S

Whales?? Which exam was this for?? Haha, please tell me that the exam isn't irrelevant. Haha, b/c if some dude is drawing whales during like AP Calc or AP Gov, that's just bizzare ;) :D

I had a pretty terrible test setting for the AP Physics exam, in the PE wing with kids screaming outside the entire time, and a teacher talking as loud as he could in the room next to us.

Does anyone think that the jackhammering during my AP Calc is among the worst situations posted thus far on this thread?

Also, should I have reported it (and risked sitting through a possibly harder, alternate Calc exam)? I didn't, but the tought that I had the right to sometimes lingers in the back of my thoughts (even if I do feel I got at least a 4). L:DL at some points, we all just looked at one another and laughed. It was SO ridiculous to be taking 3 - 4 hours of CALCULUS w/ JACKHAMMERING! Does anyone else agree?

During my Calc test, the buses, whose parking lot just so happened to be next to the room started to reorder and move out, so we had to endure 15 mins of that while trying to keep our minds on the MC.
Then, during my US test, the gardeners started working on the shrubery behind the room, necessitating leaf blowers, and some saws or something. So one of the proctors ran out and had to yell at them over their noise to get them to hush up.
Best of all, during my Physics test, a squirrell got into the room and scared the crap out of the proctor, so she screamed, chased it out and ran around slamming windows shut.
Good Times :)

Wow.. I'm so glad our school's awesome in terms of testing conditions. They ship us off to a college in the neighborhood. The seats are insanely comfortable and we get an entire table to ourselves.

Too bad we've to pay the full amount of the blasted $82

Ha, the squirrell situation is funny, but only 15 mins. of distraction on your calc test? Ha, is that all? Try enduring through the MC and almost all of the FR through persistent jackhammering and power tools being used right above the room you're testing in (with repeated failed attempts by the proctors to stop it or do anything about it)!!

i had to take ap enviro science in the ROTC Room. Two old retired marine guys continued to do work in the room and students would randomly walk in. The phone rang a couple of times and the door was left open during everyone else's lunch time. To make it worse i was surrounded by those damn marine recruitment/propaganda psoters.

All of my other AP tests were like that. We have 3 gyms and stuck us on the furthest gym away from everybody else.. Only annoying thing was the huge noise A/C and the lights made.. but they weren't that bad. I kind of enjoyed alittle bit of noise every now and then (and then when it turned off, it would be really quiet)

APDoolittle- Least you had one kind of noise.. we had police sirens, knocking, people kept on asking to come in, phone calls, the whole drumline (<- what bothered me the most of all.. constant BOOM BOOM Boommmmmboom) + band, loud people cheering the baseball players on... I would rather have one consistant noise...

One good thing was that they turned off all the bells and announcements during the AP testing. Goooodddd!

last year for world history, the test was supposed to end at 4:15, and a guy's cell phone went off at 4:13. felt SOO bad for him, cuz he was done but the proctor took it up anyway, ripped it up, and he couldnt do anything about it. and it was his mom calling him checking to see how long the ap would last...

i remember the calculus exam was taking long and the school took the world history to the practice gym. in that room it was very hot and the only way to cool the room was two fans and they could not be on because they made too much noise.

while all my exams were in a huge church and we had our own table and the room was great

i feel really bad for that kid especially that because it was his mom.

we took our ap french exam in a restaurant's banquet hall. the ppl who worked there started blasting jazz (***??) half way through the listening section. yea. 2 here i come. we were supposed to take the test in the school like normal individuals but we had just had our 4th bomb threat of the year and administrators had to take precautions and have us test somewhere else in case they had to evacuate because of another one or something. lameeeeeeeeeeeee

^ I would've been VERY angry at my mother after that... And today's mother's day too... >.< (<- nothing to do with anything but that's ok)

my top 3 from this thread

switching rooms 8 times for art history

taking a test on a snare drum

i heard from one of my friends that during the ap spanish test, the fire alarm went off during the listening section. LUCKILY, they replayed it so they got to hear it twice. and then the fire alarm flashed throughout the rest of the test, it reflected off all the computers (since our school uses computers to record the listening section).
