did anybody's financial aid change???

within the past few days (like maybe 3 days), my berkeley undergraduate scholarship went up by about $10,000. did anybody else's change??? does anybody know why it changed?? im really shocked and finding it somewhat hard to believe berkeley just gave me ten thousand more dollars.

lol jackpot!

anyway, i didn’t opt out of SHIP and i’m supposed to get $1400 or so in grants to cover it…but they didn’t give it to me yet. what gives?

Are you receiving Cal Grant B? That might explain the change I think.

dom - im not sure  i opted out of SHIP. maybe they just haven’t had time to change it yet cause I know insurance is still under my budget

steven - no i didnt receive cal grant b. its my “berkeley undergraduate scholarship.”

My son’s financial aid site had some strange stuff happening on it. We called the financial aid office and they told us the site was a new system and that it was inaccurate. I don’t know if that is the case for you, but you should check with the financial aid office to verify the accurate amount of your undergraduate scholarship.

Yeah my Undergrad scholarship shot up to $15k. I’m confused on why it went up $10k all of a sudden.

Also, it’s not deducting SHIP even though I waived out of it. And my Cal Grant isn’t confirmed yet since I’m an FPF student.

^^^ If your Cal Grant isn’t confirmed, that may be why your undergraduate scholarship shot up $10,000. That happened in reverse to my son. His Berkeley Undergraduate Scholarship was for $15,400. When his Cal Grant was confirmed, it went down $10,000.

Aww that sucks. I was getting excited on the fact that I had practically a full ride at Berkeley. If only…

hahahaha… I hear you on that one… Hopefully you still got a pretty good deal. :-)

yeah mine isn’t deducting SHIP even though I waived out of it too, but I bet it will eventually right? I think they just haven’t got to processing the waivers yet, but I don’t know for sure.

if u waived out of SHIP, ur financial aid package will not be reduced. but if u kept it, it is supposed to increase…but mine didn’t

The fee for SHIP will be removed. If you look on your ebill you should already see the deduction.

^ahh I see thank you momfirst!

You’re welcome! :-)

^ Ahh, that makes sense because my financial aid package increased about $1,500.

awwh man that sucks  i was all excited shoot…but yeah when i added up my cal grant with my original berkeley undergrad scholarship, it came out to the exact new amount
