not even close to UCB from what i hear.

My friends say it's the best engineering school after UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCI.

not really...plz check this website..
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/engineering/nophd/enns05_brief.php

yidong, ur link is for Computer science not overall engineering. It varies by a lot. I am not engineering major, nor am i an expert on this by an stretch, but i heard UCSD has the best Biomedical engineering program.

So i guess it depends on what ur major is.

i see...
yea u r right, ucsd has the best biochem program
my major is computer science for ucb, computer science and engineering for other UCs..

CP isn't as selective as UCB, for one, you don't submit an essay, ECs/work experience are taken only from 4 multiple-choice questions, and SAT2 scores are pretty much ignored (except for the min. score required to earn course credit or determination of taking placement exams).
