I was just wondering if anyone got their AP score changed after rescoring...I'm thinking about this as an option, but I'm kind of worried about the fact that there is equal chance of my score going down as there is going up.
Any stories?

bummmppppp

I don't have an answer, but I want to add a question :). What are the chances there is a problem if you get a 3 on an AP exam? I had 2 exams on the same day and felt confident about a 5 on both and got 3s on both. I used the same pencil so maybe it messed up my M.C. portions??

i don't know...if i were you, i'd rescore them. i'm probably just going to rescore it too because i also felt i got a 5
i also have a habit of circling numbers on my answer sheet and i think i forgot to erase them so it affected the grading...

Me too!!! lol. I'm convinced my pencil ruined my grades!!! lol. Not to sound as if I think I'm amazing, but my U.S. government essays were seriously amazing!!! lol.

Last year my son had his USH test rescored and went from a 2 to a 5. We knew there had been a mistake, but weren't sure his grade would be changed. It took about 9 weeks to receive his new score with an explanation. The essay and mc sections were not combined. His grade reflected only one section of the test (I think it was the essay). I believe this is the most common type of grading error. Good luck.

wow. thats interesting. i got a 3 in both ap chem and art history even though i still think i got a 5

I'd really like to have my calculus BC rescored.... I thought I got a 5 and at the very least a 4, and I ended up with a 3. I'm reluctant to do it though because there is a chance I could have just totally blew the mc. I dont know... to rescore or not to rescore that is the question lol

In your case I'd really think about it. If theres no way you could have scored a 3, and you're fairly close to positive your score is wrong than I would absolutely rescore.

I thought they only handscore the frq part and check for any systematic mistakes, but maybe im wrong.

Michael1, I feel the same away about my U.S. government exam. I did reallywell on my essays, but think I could've completely blew my m.c.

They hand score the MC and leave the FR as is.

jamesford is right about the handscoring of the MC

i'm stilll thinking about rescoring...i'm just afraid my grade will go down (paranoid? haha)

Two years ago Collegeboard lost my D's free response section; her reported score was only for MC, and since the sections aren't reported separately, there was no word on this from them. We only found out by ordering a copy of the essays (at the last minute) and it wasn't there. It took over two months to straighten it out--she had a choice of retaking, rescinding, or having a 4 imputed from her 2 on MC. This is probably a rare event, though.

the thing is i got a 4 so i doubt they lost a part of my AP test

for those who got a 2 or a 3...it's more probable that part of it was lost

to anyone who took art history: i was wondering if you teacher gave you a CB practice test before the actual test cuz mine couldn't get one for some reason

I graduated in May, can I have a test rescored that I took my junior year? Probably not.

no...CollegeBoard gives you a couple of months after the test date to decide to rescore i think

Interesting...I didnt think about doing this. I was shocked when I got my AP Calc score...even my teacher told me the least I could get was a 4--but i got a 3... How does one go about doing this? I've been looking at the collegeboard website and I can't find a number to call to get the grades changed.

i'm pretty sure that's the address you have to send the request to and the number you can call...i got it off the CB site :]

how much does it cost?

i got a 4 on both euro and bio, and i was kinda confident about both.

is there a chance that i can get a 5 if i get it rescored?

i'm in the same situation as you stl2cali2k1...the probability that's it's changed is supposed to be really really low but who knows?
it's $25
