<p>okay so i live in southern california and i havent received my waitlist decision so i called the admissions office and they put me on the second waitlist. she said that of the people on the waitlist, they denied 1300 people. 1300! thats A TON! so congrats to those of you who got in, and those of you who got on the second one. </p>

<p>How the heck could a waitlist be that large (to deny 1300 people)? That's almost as big as the enrolled Class of 2009 itself.</p>

<p>Anyway, I am a former transfer applicant who was offered a place on the freshman waiting list last week after expressing a desire to be considered as a freshman rather than as a transfer candidate. I just returned the waitlist committment card (it was due by June 10), so I suppose I am on this "second waitlist" as well?</p>

<p>so i DID get my letter today. from the sounds of it, i dont think they took anyone off the second waitlist, because during the first round they said they took fewer than 10 off. oh well. i'm glad i didnt get in, b/c now i'm a officially going to columbia :)</p>
<p>I'm from Orange County, and yeah I don't think they took anyone from the 2nd waitlist. I thought they should've just taken the ten or so of us on the 2nd waitlist, since it wouldn't make much of a difference, but in the end it's their call.</p>
