Did anyone get scholarship money from JMU?

Not yet. Still waiting. My D was accepted EA.

I suggest that you contact admissions, financial aid, and the major program to which you have applied.

JMU does not have a lot of scholarship money to give. The largest scholarships (Dingledine & Centennial) are application based (Centennial also has additional financial need requirements). There are also STEM scholarships, Madison Achievement Scholarships (some of which are offered by academic admissions, and many of which are offered by the academic major programs themselves). There are also some small (often non-renewable) scholarships offered by programs and admissions.

As I mentioned above… follow up with admissions, financial aid, and the major program.

DD was accepted EA and heard in mid-February that she received a Madison Achievement Scholarship from the Kinesiology Department, her chosen major. When we went to CHOICES in February, Honors advisor said JMU was failing in offering good students scholarships. It doesn’t seem like they have as many as other colleges. Good luck!

^^ this would have probably helped sway my D too… She has acceptances from UVA, W&M, and JMU- honors. Frankly I will be very sad when she turns two of them down. I love them all, and she does too. Money (aka “love”) would have made her decision easier and trickier at the same time I guess.
