Haha it's taking so long to get out here to Portland, OR that a lady called from the admissions office this morning and was like "I've been tracking the letter to you for days and days, and I think it's ridiculous that it hasn't gotten to you yet, so I just want you to know that you're a semifinalist"

seriously?? Well, congrats! i'm sure you deserve it.

i guess i'm not going to bc . . . time for Harvard to come through.

My son was accepted back on 12/19 EA to the BC Honors Program. We were hoping for an invitation to the Presidential Scholarship program, but no letter so far.

Any chance there are any letters outstanding, or is it too late? We are in Southern California. Any one in So. Cal receive a letter yet?

I have been accepted into the honors program EA as well and I am hoping to somehow still receive the presidential scholarship finalist notification (I'm in the midwest and I have not yet received any notification).

I only sent my ACT score (35) with my application and I'm beginning to wonder if the lack of subject tests that wouldve gone with the SAT's might've hurt my chances... I believe that every other aspect of my application would have placed me into this elite 1-3 % known as the "Finalists for the Presidential Scholarships"...

I've seen in other threads that the scholarship is also somewhat need-based but I am not sure how true that can be.

And if this doesn't work out, then I guess I'm going to MIT where i was also accepted EA. ;-)

xD how could you ever turn down MIT!!?? Go for it!

On the other hand...if you don't ever want to find yourself at the top of a tall building, deciding whether to jump or not....don't go with MIT ;-)

lol jk, good luck !

I don't think its need based at all, because I didn't submit all my financial aid forms for the early deadline and they invited me as finalist...I think this is their only one that is merit-based only.

We can still submit the financial aid forms now, right?
I saw that in the accpetance letter, but does anyone know if there is anything special we have to do? or if we just submit them?

thanks!
