I'm 21 years old and graduated late from HS. I did horrible in HS. I'm starting to realize that I'm not going anywhere in life in my current situation. I want to join the National Guard and go to college but I'm not sure if a college is going to even accept me. I'd like to stay away from community college if possible but am starting to wonder if it's my only option. Obviously, not looking at Harvard and **** but you know what I mean (something like a local college or state university possibly). Am I SOL?

I’d advise community college, work like hell, then apply for transfer to a 4-year college. Many sub-par students do this with success. Best of luck!

You’re not SOL. My mom dropped out of high school and went back 20 years later. she now has a masters and we are encouraging her to get her doctorate. :). I know a BUNCH of people who have done the same.

The advice above is perfect. Community college. Bust your butt and get good grades & you can transfer to a 4 year program. You can do it!!
