If you would like to attend CSULB this spring – ACT NOW and follow the steps listed below!

CSULB is now able to accommodate a significant number of eligible transfer students for Spring 2011 due to the funding provided in the recently passed state budget. Given the short period between the passing of the budget and the beginning of our spring term, unusual flexibility has been allowed in our admission criteria to allow qualified transfer students to enroll at CSULB this spring.

You originally applied for admission for Fall 2010 and we were not able to accommodate you because of the state budget crises. It now appears that we have a space for you for the Spring 2011 term if you are interested!

If you are interested in coming, please act now:

Go to CSUMentor and submit an application for the Spring 2011 semester by November 10. No application fee is required – just select the “check or money order” option and submit the application. We will then waive the fee for you. Make sure you list all colleges and universities attended with the correct attendance dates (including this semester if you are currently enrolled).

Send us official transcripts as soon as possible! We kept the ones you submitted previously submitted so we only need updated transcripts from schools you attended this past spring or summer.

Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. For more information on our spring opportunity, please see CSULB Enrollment Services

This was the email I received on Monday. Am I reading it wrong or did I get in for Spring 2011? BTW, I was rejected for the fall term and my gpa is 3.40. Major is marketing.

I have no first hand knowledge, but it sounds from the way that e-mail is written that you are in if you are still in good academic standing at your current school. Congratulations.

got the same exact email about an hour ago. this definately caught me off guard. if only this were for ucsb or uci haha. my high school gpa was 3.5 and i dont even remember what my original major was for this school. are you going to apply?

i got this too ! saying this :

ucihopefull, same as my message. I hope this is real, lol. When they say you’re invited to enroll, does this mean we’re automatically in ??

I’m assuming this is for transfer students since the budget was approved.

well i just started freshmen in community college so im not sure…

***? Did you guys get rejected at CSULB in the first place?

Please be warned that spring 2011 is only open for upper division transfers. I think CSULB mistakenly sent it to rejected freshmen & lower division transfers.

LastSymphony this is true. I’ve read up everywhere and I believe this is only for upper division students. Also, I don’t believe there isn’t any “automatic enrollment”. I received an email stating that they would be reviewing my application. I’m disappointed on how they worded the email =(

edit: btw, i was rejected for fall 2010

This is what they have posted on their page. I don’t know if this refers to the same thing you guys are talking about, but nevertheless here you go:

This Week @ The Beach

Week of October 25, 2010
CSULB Continues to Accept Transfer Student Applications for
Spring 2011 Semester; New Deadline for Applications is Nov. 10

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is open for applicants who are community college transfer students who wish to begin their upper division studies in the spring 2011 semester. Applications to the university must be made online through CSU Mentor no later than Wednesday, Nov. 10.

CSULB’s ability to admit students for spring 2011 is due to the partial restoration of funding provided by the recently approved 2010-11 state budget.

Because of the short period of time between the recent passage of the state budget and the beginning of spring semester, CSULB has provided unusual flexibility in admission criteria in order to allow more students to enroll for spring.

In order to be considered for the spring 2011 semester, prospective transfer students must complete the minimum California State University (CSU) transfer requirements by the end of the fall 2010 term. A minimum overall college grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 or higher in all transferable college courses (non-California residents must have a minimum GPA of 2.40) is required for admission. Students must complete 60 transferable semester units or 90 quarter units by the end of the fall term, with a minimum 30 semester units or 45 quarter units in courses approved to meet CSU General Education (GE) requirements. By the end of the fall term students must also complete with a grade of “C” or better the CSU GE requirements in written communication, oral communication, critical thinking and mathematics/quantitative reasoning.

The minimum CSU criteria will be used for all non-impacted academic programs. GPA minimum requirements have been greatly reduced for several impacted programs.

The campus is also accepting applications from prospective freshmen and transfer students for the fall 2011 semester. Those applications must be received by Nov. 30.

Complete information on applying for 2011 spring and fall semesters at CSULB is available at Admissions. Prospective students should visit CSUMentor to apply.

@iizignant how did u know were rejected from csulb? im so confused lol

…they sent me a letter and email rejecting me. They do this for all applicants who were not accepted any term. I was not accepted for this fall 2010 term

o for 2010 fall. how long does it typically take for them send out these messages? I called their admission thing just now, and it says my application decision has been made. Is that a bad sign?

Ieatsharks, did you apply for spring 2011?

Also, seeing what someone said in my other thread, it looks like high school students will have automatic enrollment for spring 2011 while transfers fight over any spots that are left over. =\

Hopefully this isn’t the case…
