I’ll admit, I’ll pretend a test was really hard just to join in on the conversation, or refrain from answering each question in class. I barely talk about my grades too, because I have a lot of friends who would roll their eyes at me if I told them I was worried about a B+ in one of my classes. Soooo, I guess I kind of do “dumb down” only a bit though.

This is so true for me but I only realized it in 10th grade… Im not genius but I’m genuinely smart… I don’t talk smart around my friends but in class when answering questions, above-average vocab words just slip out of my mouth like ‘juxtaposition’, ‘ameliorate’, etc…not once but like 4 times a sentence… Sound too smart but I try to be laid back like the others…

Nah, most of my classes (taking pretty much all APs) are filled with really laid back and chill ppl. We use every day words and are honestly not prone to using “rather erudite words and phrases”. I mean we can if we want to (we do in our essays) but I think the general consensus is to be chill, concise, and understandable.
