i graduated two years ago (2008) with a BS in just straight Electrical Engineering with a concentration in signal processing...i graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI...upstate NY, mostly MIT rejects...still has decent prestige though)...and i ended up finding work in the nuclear industry as an electrical engineer (which mostly deals with power generation and how to electrically power up a nuke plant)...been there close to two years now...

work has been getting kinda boring, and i'm applying to grad schools soon...am applying to Caltech, MIT, RPI, and Worcester Polytech Inst (WPI)...now for MIT, RPI, and WPI, i plan on applying for MS / PhD (for app purposes only...i really just plan on the MS for now) in electrical engineering...with a concentration in energy and electromagnetics...

now as for Caltech, i plan on applying for physics...it's like the best school to do it at, and i think i'd probably like physics more than engineering (more theoretical...i love that stuff)...just that it's hard to find work in it...now i really don't have much background in it, but i do plan on studying my a55 off for the physics and math GREs...

the crappy part is i never really did research at school...kinda regret it...

oh and here's my stats...

GPA: 3.2 (two semesters kinda ruined the GPA...some semesters were exceptional)

Extracurrics from school: was a Teacher's Assistant for CAD, and then later for the electromagnetics class that we take...i also ran track first two years, and played football senior year of college (i joined junior year though)

Work Experience: see above...

so what do you guys think??...bad idea or good??
