well I put junior, but im sort of weary of that bc i wonder how credits will transfer. I mean i followed a prescribed plan of igetc plus all these honors courses, but i dunna. I am thinking about those religion courses and stuff and non western history courses, i dont have anything that will cover those. Plus the language thing, I am fluent in a language that they dont (and most universities dont) have, so i might have to juice out another language.
I will have 60 units or around that when I transfer so that is why i put junior.

oh about the starbucks thing. i followed up with my interviewer from wellesley the day before the interview by email.
I said Dear X, I am just confirming our interview tomorrow at X restaurant at 12:30pm. I look forward to meeting you! To make it easier to recognize me I will be wearing a red jacket. See you tomorrow! blah blah
It might help out in a crowded place.
.... but pick something weather appropriate... my red jacket is wool and long, and it was 90 outside.

JG, good idea to send the confirmation email to remind the interviewer. I am applying as a sophomore with 36 credits by year-end. I may be one of the few applicants who could be 'recruited' or atleast given support by an athletic coach to supplement my application.
Currently playing d3 baseball at a top 35 LAC, but hoping that the baseball part of why Gtown (following my goal of playing d1 athletics) in conjunction with gaining more experience in the non-profit sector (interning this summer for SAVE the Children) will make me 'interesting.'

Which other schools are you applying to?

Gtown is my number 1, followed in descending order by Vandy, and GWU

i have dream schools as my #1 (u know the stanford/yale sort), but for realistic schools:
Hopkins is my realistic#1(not really realistic but I have legacy so maybe that helps a little?)
Gtown
NWstern
Wellesley
Then for my safeties Berkeley (TAP)/Tufts.
For whichever I get, I will go where the money flows. =D
My best friend went to gtown for soccer or lacrosse or something. She didnt really stick it out during her career at gtown. She fell in love with italian, french, and spanish men, so she triple majored....ital,french,spanish?

According to a friend of mine who went to Georgetown, interviews for transfer students are all about the alumni network in your area and whether or not they have time to fit you in their schedule.

It has nothing to do with GPA or chances, and because not everyone has the opportunity to interview, I doubt it has any bearing on your chances unless you just do so horribly that the interviewer feels a need to let them know you don't seem like a good fit.

_ken, from what source did your friend derive his/her conclusion?

Based on my Georegtown Interview, I don’t think that’s true (I think there’s an initial screening where, for example, kids with a GPA below 3.0 are cut off).

My interviewer did not explicitly say that. This was my impression based on hearing my interviewer’s past success stories (as in, the kids she interviewed ended up being accepted).

maybe they just toss out the whole pile of less than 3.0s anyways, hopkins i think does that… i dont see why other schools wouldnt.

JGee,
I totally agree.
If you do the math, there’s no way that the admissions officers can read EVERY essay with time and consideration.
So I think the lower level associates initially read everything, toss out the automatic rejects, and pass the ones with decent chances to the admissions officers.

During undergrad they worked on the admissions committee.

Several transfer students have posted that they were admitted with no interview, which backs up my claim. Not getting one as a transfer student doesn’t mean anything other than there wasn’t someone in your area who had time to interview you.
