Did Georgia State lie about their scholarship deadlines?

For most of Georgia State scholarships the deadlines were clearly February 15. Can someone please tell me why I’m on the website February 14 and it is not even possible to access their scholarship library anymore? This is extremely frustrating that they would change this at the last second.

It’s not even remotely possible that they’re having a computer glitch that, unfortunately, coincides with the last minute applications? Instead, the conclusion is that they “lied” about a deadline?? Exactly why would they lie? Why would they change a deadline at the last minute?

Take a breath and think rationally about this.

Why did you wait until the last minute to apply?

For what it’s worth (because I’m up and really not in the mood to do the precalculus that’s awaiting my attention) I just tried. I was able to get into the scholarship library. The deadlines I saw still say February 15th.

Apparently the issue isn’t with them, but on your end.

That makes me feel a whole lot better I will try again on a different computer.

Here’s what happened when I tried to access the scholarship library. When I tried to click on the link to go there it would consistently take me back to the original page I started at instead. I can’t get to the page anymore. That is why I’m saying what I’m saying.

I was able to access some scholarships (from a school I know nothing about-- scholarships I’ve never heard of) and to confirm that the deadline is February 15.

The issue is on your end. If there’s a library open, or a friend with internet access, you might want to consider those options.

That’s so weird I wonder what’s going on then if it really is only happening to me. I tried again on another computer and it is the same loop over and over. Would you mind sending a link to the page?

OK, I see now what you mean. The scholarships I was able to access are the ones listed on the left hand column. They have a deadline of Feb. 15. If there are more than that, I can’t get to them either.

My suggestion is to fax whatever applications you’ve already filled out. You’re obviously aware of the library; I’ve got to believe that you’ve already scoped out the applications you want.

Today is Sunday, and tomorrow is a federal holiday, so there may not be anyone there to receive phone calls. I’m assuming that you already have worksheets of the scholarships to which you were planning to apply. Fax them in. Or take a photo, email it in, and ask whether they’ll accept a real application once they’ve fixed the glitch on Tuesday.

But I still don’t buy the conspiracy theory-- that they’ve changed deadlines or lied about them. I think it’s a computer glitch with unfortunate timing for anyone who waited until the last minute.
