Did GOD go to Exeter ?

Just behave people.... that's all I was trying to say.

You remind me of a guy from my old school. We used to argue all the time about this stuff in chem. I am not going to Exeter, so don't jump all over me for being self-promoting, but I think some of the questions are legit, as are the "self-promoting statements". I'm sure some are just to name drop, but most probably aren't.

hahah, self congratulatory statements... about her husband. lol.

and is someone feeling a bit snippy that they aren't going to exeter? (not that there is any reason, all the schools are great, just wondering if a specific thread starter has some hidden resentments against a certain school that is in the town of exeter.)

lol sorry i find this kind of funny. NMH prediction thread= 12 pages, printer thread= 1 page

btw, do you live in exeter or go to exeter, or is your profile a part of making fun of exonians?

Ha Ha i knew this would come eventually - when people can't defend their possition they always resort to ad hominem attacks. And no. I am not snippy about not getting into exeter because that never happened .... I never even applied to Exeter but i did get into Milton which is harder to get into so i'm sure if exeter bought my interest i would have gone there easily, but i'm not going to namedrop the school i actually go to cause you guys will probably burn it, put all the people that went to the school on a stretcher and douse them in scalding oil until they repent their sins against the holy exeter.

Like i said a million times exeter is a great school but your ruining it's reputation with these threads so the way i see it i'm defending exeters rep. i'm interested in how the world sees american prep school i have friends in eton and other top british school and to be honest they don't think much of american preps for precisely the reason I pointed out -pretentiousness. Now you probably think etonians are pretentious and the probably are but they don't advertize their pretentiousness on the web where everyone can see it.

Plus I have friends at exeter (like my partner) so I have no reason to hate the school itself, and I don't if you look at my posts i never attacked the school what i did do however is attack the people that misrepresent the school because it make ALL american preps look bad in the process. Exeter is a sort of standard bearer for American school (though not neccesarily the best it is the most famous) so it is important that it has a good image and an even better reputation. PLEASE DON"T SHOOT ME! Have a nice day :)

haha
This is hilarious. But in order to have more supporters you should have spoken out about a certain other school. Then I'm sure you would have atleast 5 other posters on your side. Lol
Me one of them.
I wonder what people think of me when they read my posts.
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP LOL

And I thought they taught you logical reasoning at exeter I suppose I was wrong. Take these few simple facts that completely throw off your argument. Firstly the NMH thread has been around for FAR longer than the exeter - we love our printers so much that we need to discuss it here on the internet infront of the world thread sooo NATURALLY it would have more posters, not to mention it is bloody interesting in comparison to a thread about well .... printers? I for one am glad that the NMH page has more posts it would be VERY disturbing if it was the other way around. But even a three year old knows that occupiying the first 5 or so slots on CC takes away traffic from the other MORE important threads sooo my charge sticks and your fallicious argument has no ground whatsoever.

Anyways .... how lame are we that we would discuss printers for a whole page !?!!?? (I know most of it was written by me or about my posts but still ...) That is indicative of something people!! DON'T SHOOT ME!! and have a nice day :)

not to be rude, but this too has become an exeter thread kafkareborn, though it was intentionally supposed to be a mockery at schools that get way too much attention (which i agree on) :P

the idea is that there are WAY too many a/e debates, supplies for exeter dorms, etc threads compared to other schools (and you have to agree on this. honestly, go back to prep school admissions. there's probably an exeter thread as well as the continuous revived threads on a vs e)
i think what kaftkareborn is trying to say (and even if she doesn't agree, I definitely think this) is just put them all in the same thread (I think subforums would lead to like 5 different links cuz exeter isn't the only one lol) like "questions on exeter"

then again, i would want to know every single detail on a school if i got in (and the whole megathread doesn't always answer every question), so im not really that anti-multithreading. printer problems are horrible (one time we had an assignment due and living in a dorm, we only had one printer. RAWR THE INK DIDN'T WORK. you could imagine how frantic we were, and we were like "DO I HANDWRITE EIGHT FREAKING COPIES?!") and cell phone reception bugs me (though i think exeter, being such a good school, would have that one covered)

anyways. yeah. :)

Your 150% right west coast. It's complete saturation plain and simple. I mean have you seen a SINGLE thread on Harvard-Westlake? People aren't getting to the good stuff because they are being whitewashed by this constant A / but mostly E garbage.

I honestly don't think people who get admitted to Andover or Exeter think they're better.

They might be excited and consequently anxious and then subsequently curious or neurotic to the point that they want the perfect smooth transition and thus need to make sure that they cross the t's and dot the i's. In the case of boarding these i's and t's are printers and phone coverage.

And congratulations on Milton, top notch school! But getting into Milton harder then Exeter? You can't say with any of these top schools, it's a case by case basis so perhaps a bit presumptive of you to say that you could have 'easily' gotten into Exeter?

I want to be eloquent and have a complete argument about why this is bullcrap, but really, all you're doing is sounding like a jerk.
Name-dropping might make some people feel good about themselves... But when I read those "self-congratulatory" threads I don't think "Oh my God, they got into Exeter, they must be AMAZING" I actually think about what the thread is ABOUT. If I had the answer to a question on printers, I would answer it, whether the question was for Exeter or Andover, or Choate or NMH.
Seriously, you're dragging this out and most people don't give a crap. Start a petition or something, or just go crawl in a corner and mutter about Exeter's pretentiousness... Just don't subject US to it.

your right, this thread has served it's purpose. I have said all I wanted to say whether it's true or not it was said and discussed. So now i'll let this thread implode so more important issues can be discussed instead.

BUT you notice I did not say anything against you or Exeter .... so your retort was unwarranted. All I did was comment on a problem I saw it was supposed to be a HUGE joke but it seems that some people took it way to seriously I mean i did not know that guys PMS as well. So yeah relax even exeter will get some jabs thrown at it from time to time, even Andover does and we don't see phillipians burning the house down. Chilax mate. Have a nice day :)

yeah guys this was just a huge joke, i took it too far i'm sorry.
