Did I do this out of order? (MPN)

When I filed my FAFSA I said that I wanted loan options. I guess right now the school is working on aid packages and in my account it says that I have been approved and accepted the Pell Grant. I went and did the Entrance counseling (passed) and then signed in with my PIN and recorded that I did that. Then I went (with my PIN) and electronically signed my MPN online. Of course the school doesn't even have my student loans ready yet.

Did I do this too early or will it just make it a smoother transition when they put the loans into my account?

And is this what they call an ED and accepting an ED for a certain school?

You have to do them before any loans will be finalized or put in your account. It should be fine to have done it now as the MPN and entrance counseling cover you for the full time in college.

No - ED is a particular way of applying to certain schools for early decision on admissions (often competitive schools that don't usually publish acceptances till march/april(?) but will give ED applicants an early decision and if it is yes they are supposed to withdraw any other applications without knowing the results or financial aid offers) - when you apply to those schools ED you basically promise that if they offer you ED admission you wil withdraw all your other applications. If you had applied ED you would hopefully know that you had done so.

LOL...okay, I didn't apply ED...I thought maybe it stood for Education Department. LOL Thanks, I did the MPN at the right time then, everything will be ready for the Fall for me!

MPN's sometimes need to be done again. D used the same lender at old college & new, but she had to do a new MPN at new. Also, school where I work used FFELP lending in past & switched to Direct - students had to do new MPN's. Usually it's one & done, though.
