I am a junior who is about to finish precalc in about 2 days. I thought the class was pretty easy, about to finish w/ a 94, and got a 92 last semester. I already signed up for Calc AB, and I also appealed for AP Phyics , so I will know if I got in by the next sch yr. I took a pre comp sci class at my school and did not like the teacher at all, struggling for a C.... so I decided to switch into AP Stats, but I just got handed a summer assignment today....

so is it wise to take calc ab, (maybe physics) ans stats the same yr. I didn't even read the course description, but I def. knew, not that im not gonna take comp sci for sure. I got a little scared after reading the threads on here, im kinda getting scared.

can anyone who has already taken the class or in the same sit. help me out, should I just drop it and self study comp sci???

I took stats and pre calc side by side, you can definitely handle Calc/Stats. Honestly there isn’t much math in stats, its all calculator based. That class was my personal nap time, and I’m fairly certain I got a 5. Strive for both, and best of luck.

The most mathy Statistics gets is solving for a variable given two systems of equations. The “challenging” part is making sure you feed your calculator the correct info and reading; there are actually quite a bit of nuances in stats lingo which makes the entire test feel like it is made up of trick questions.

The problem with stats is that it depends on which college you go to and whether they will give you any credit at all for stats even if you get a 5. I would look at the colleges you are going to and make sure you will get credit otherwise you are taking a college course for fun.:)

Same thing applies to the English AP’s . Some college give credit for both others only give credit for one class and you can take either class to get the credit.
