Did I mess up??

Just got my semester report card today - got an 89 in AP Statistics. How much of a difference will it make to college admissions that I got an 89 instead of a 90, which would be an A instead of a B. I am applying to some tough schools (Georgetown, Duke, Emory, deferred right now at Brown) and I'm afraid this B in Stats might ruin my chances. I got a 5 on my AP Calc exam last year and a 35 math on my ACT, so it looks like I am capable, but just did not try (not the case) I was carrying a solid A in the class until I bombed my midterm (got an 80). I know that colleges are looking for an upward trend especially senior year, so I am worried. I have another B on my report card too (AP Physics) but I expected that one, this one was a shock. I figured that one B would be alright, but I don't think the schools will forgive two. What do you think?

With college admissions as competetive as it is these days, I imagine that those grades can only hurt.

honestly i doubt it will break you
an 89 is a B+, and it is an ap class
i really really doubt it will have that much of an effect on you application decision

thats so typical for CC.
relax. this is definitely NOT going to hurt you

Not even for schools like Duke or Brown? Aren't grades the number one thing they look at?

Don't worry, semester grades for seniors are only sent in to make sure that you didn't start completely slacking off and pulling Cs. It won't hurt you at all.

So do the colleges weight their decision on junior year grades over senior grades?

Weight breakdown IMO:

20% 1st semester sr. yr.
40% jr. yr.
20+20% sophomore/freshman yr.

Two Bs in AP classes, that too in the relatively harder ones like Physics and Stat (ok, maybe not so much Stat) won't hurt your admissions. And with your other numbers, namely the 5 and the 35, I'd be very surprised if you're rejected for the B.

yeah i dont think it will hurt your chances.

raelah, funny you say that i got a C in honors math this semester. (senior year...) looks like im screwed.

Seriously, do you think that a single B+ in your senior year (in an AP class, no less) is going to make that much of a difference? Obviously grades are a huge factor, but the difference between an A- and a B+ in a single class isn't something to fret about.

I wonder how people survive high school when they panic so much.
