I went to a portfolio review for a college (SCAD) that I'm likely to attend. However, I was told that this was portfolio counseling, nothing official. While I was presenting my less-than-ready portfolio, she made notes and scores on a paper. This paper was never shown to me.

Do you think that this paper went into my file? When I get reviewed for artistic scholarships will they refer to this paper? The portfolio I presented was absolutely awful. I was just looking for a fresh critique.

I filled out 100s of those forms at SCAD. They do go into your file, but they are not taken into consideration when evaluating your application. The ONLY time they became relevant (possibly) was if a student presented a fantastic portfolio, and the reviewer made a note for the Admissions staff to pursue an application from the student rather than hoping the student fills one out.

When reviewing application portfolios, the ONLY reason I ever looked at them was out of curiosity. You are fine, don't worry a bit. You received portfolio counseling, nothing more or less. It will not impact your application at all.

Do I don't confuse anyone...

"them," meaning the evaluation forms from counseling sessions.

Thanks. Since it seems as if you have worked in an art school admissions office, would you mind taking a look at my portfolio before i send it off later on? That would be amazing.
