did i screw up my chances for MIT?

i just got a b in math and a c in ap chemistry

***other than that, i am an all A student

please tell me if i should give up MIT or if i should keep going for it

note: i usually get 98 or 95 in math and 97 or 99 in physics, its just that AP chem was taken at a bad time and i really screwed up bad
please help me

Man you need to relax . nothing happened. :-)

really? i can actually get in with a C??

chances are lower, but you still can.

If it’s possible, explain to the adcoms what caused you to get such a low grade(i.e. problems at home, health, anything else.)

Maybe you can show off your SAT II scores? Have you done SATII?

You do not need all A’s
You do not need all A’s
You do not need all A’s

If you don’t apply, you have a 0% chance of getting in. You DON’T need all A’s, and it’s never worth it to just give up.

I got in with a C, but that was in APUSH, not in a real class. You’re obviously completely screwed.

what is APUSH? US history?

Yeah, AP US History. I had mono and turned in the final project late, and my teacher was less than accommodating. It’s kind of a long story.

yay…i have hope now

i actually got a C because of a weird heart problem that caused a intestinal issue X(

k4r3n2…are u joking about apush not being a real class? i thought it was impossibly hard

also, how do i tell the adcoms my situation? interview?

I have no experience with how MIT works, but I sincerely doubt any university is going to reject you for a C or a B, or even 2…

To me, it doesn’t seem like a big deal, and trying to explain it would make it seem like you’re desperate/whining. See what others say, but I definitely wouldn’t bring it up unless asked.

If you had a legitimate medical problem and that caused a bad semester, then that is something you should tell colleges. You should definitely still apply.

Kids these days just can’t understand sarcasm. I agree that if you had a legitimate medical condition, that is something that you need to inform colleges. This would probably be a good thing for your counselor to put in his or her letter.

LOL Is this seriously a thread? :-D

XD XD XD XD

:D :D

No, it’s not a thread. You’re obviously just posting in thin air.
