<p>I wrote to the band director at the college I'm considering going to on 11/15/05: </p>
<p>"I received the questionnaire and it is being mailed back to you today. I wanted to let you know that I only put down trumpet as instrument played. However, I am also open to playing the Baritone." </p>
<p>I am open to playing the Baritone, becuse it has the same fingerings as the trumpet.</p>
<p>I also torld him that I "got serious" in the last two years, (by which I ment that I am working on memorizeing my scales in two octives. </p>
<p>I recieved a letter this week that stated that they got my application. At the end of the letter it said:</p>
<p>"you must be quite a musician your involvement in that area ismost impressive"</p>
<p>I just don't feel that I am this "great musician" I am WORKING on learning my scales in my SENIOR YEAR, In the bands I play in (marhing and concert) I play mostly 2nd or 3rd parts.</p>
<p>So, did I lie? </p>
<p>My dad saw it and asked What did you tell them? Becuse I don't practice very much at home. I asked him later what they might have meant by that and he said that was probbablt just part of thier add campaign.</p>
