Just wondering if anyone got theirs.

Yes, some at least. S got his awhile ago, but not at home to check date, sorry. His stats are above the minimum that they list for automatic admission to honors

Also he recently received the invitation to an ADS scholarship weekend in Feb. I wonder, is that automatic with honors invite? We’re considering going as a way to visit the campus (OOS), though not really expecting to get any more money from that. Anyone who’s done it know if that makes a good visit or is it better to go another time to get a feeling for the university?

Did the invitation for ADS come in the mail? My daughter is hoping for an invitation, and her stats meet the qualifications.

Yes, in the mail. Small envelope, one page letter, with a brief description and a link to register.

How would we find out if we got into the Honors College? Would it by email or mail?

Mail only. No email. It takes awhile after admitted. It says on the honors page 4 to 6 weeks and it did actually take that long, at least for my S.

I’m kind of worried because it has been 5.5 weeks, and I have already received the invitation to the scholarship competition.

Hmm. I don’t know who gets the scholarship invites. If you are worried you might call them next week. Do you meet the automatic honors qualifications of 30 + top 5%? Top 5% seems a lot more stringent than getting a 30. The invite is probably a good sign, but call anyway once the 6 weeks is up.

@celesteroberts I have the ACT and GPA requirements, but my school doesn’t rank. I talked to someone from the Honors College who said that that was OK though.

celeste, do you know which weekends are available for the ADS competition? we are hoping for the letter and trying to plan ahead. I spoke to MSU admissions this morning, and invitations are still being sent out. (Plus we live in Vancouver, BC so mail takes a long time to get here from MI)

Thanks for the info, and best of luck to everyone!

ADS is February 6-7th or 13-14th. I don’t think it’s possible to get an invite to the ADS without being invited to the Honors College.

If you are coming from OOS, I wouldn’t come twice for a visit. You will get all of the information you need during the ADS weekend. If you like East Lansing in February, you won’t need to see it any other time.email logo
