Did terrible first semester, improved second semester, chances of being able to transfer?

I’m currently a freshman, I chose to go to a local 4yr commuter school (not a cc) for the first year, and it’s been the worst decision I’ve probably ever made, it’s a joke of a school and I hate it there. I’ve been looking to transfer since the first month of going there. Anyway, I really f’d up first semester, having absolutely no desire to be there really killed me, ended with with getting a 1.9, however this semester I’m on track to get just around a 3.0 or higher, which will bring my cumulative gpa to around a 2.5, still not that great I know. There is no way I can go back there for another semester, I’m really really really trying to get into Temple, I think I’d be right on the edge when transferring. My question is, since it shows I clearly improved my second semester, will that help me get in? I will apply to one or two other schools just to be safe but Temple is by far my #1
Thanks!!

2.5 sounds a bit low for temple. http://admissions.temple.edu/apply/transfer-applicant#consider

I’m not sure if how much they weigh your high school performance and SAT/ACT scores. It does say they don’t request test scores if you take more than 15 credits.

Apply and if you don’t make it try again next year.
