Did UT Austin eliminate the top 10% rule for class of 2015?

Hey Everyone,

i have a quick question. My brother who currently attends UT Austin told me that the 10% rule will no longer apply for the High School graduating class of 2011 entering Austin and I am one of those students. Is this true? Just curious. I am currently in the top 2% of my class (13 out of 712).

Thanks

It’s been modified. Being in the top 2% you won’t have a problem getting in. There’s another thread all about it a little lower on the page.

Thank you for the feedback!

You’re being ranked in 7th grade?

He’s a member of the UT Class of 2015 / high school class of 2011.

I lol’d…

Hey! Never too early ;)

75% of the class will be chosen as the Texas applicants with the highest class rank, the rest will be hand-picked. Rank can still guarantee you admission, but it’ll likely have to be better than 10% to do so and will fluxuate every year.
