I just realized that there is no formal introduction thread in this forum. So I just thought it'd be cool to start one here. Maybe if we attend boarding school one day, we would have an automatic group of friends =)

I'll start:
Name-Eunice Chou
Age-13
Grade-8th
Region/State of residence-NYC
Schools applying to-Andover, Exeter, Deerfield
Admissions experience (so far)- I visited and was interviewed by all three schools. My best experience was at Andover probably because the faculty was most friendly during my admissions process. My interviewer also gave me the chance to say whatever was on my mind without the discomfort or anxiety. In addition, I felt that Andover had the prettiest campus. Overall, however, Exeter, Deerfield, and Andover interviewers were all very friendly and welcoming. I found them all to be wonderful boarding schools =)

eunixd, you have a great idea! However, some students may not be comfortable putting their real names on the board. Maybe everyone can do participate but not use their names. Do you think this may work?

Name- Online nickname: ChloeSong or Chloe
Age-14
Grade-9
Region/State of residence-PA
Schools applying to-not sure yet
Admissions experience (so far)- none yet. I looked a little into some things but not to much. I'm at the begining stages (and already stressed! This board is at the same time informative and really stressing. I feel like I'm doing something way over my head ever since I came here. =( Can applying to a bs be that hard? [youdon'tneedtoanswerthat;D I'mjustventingagain.])

Good thread idea though. ^^ Good luck to you Eunice! Chou... are you Korean or Chinese?
I'm Korean. ^^

(CC) Name: prettyckitty
Age: 13
Grade: 8
State: Arizona and California
Schools applying to: Andover, Exeter, Deerfield, Concord, Milton, St. Paul's, St. Mark's, Groton
Admissions Experiance So Far: I visited Andover, Milton, and Concord over the summer; I knew some about Milton and Concord because my aunt and uncle attended. Andover is my top choice. I had excellent interviews at Milton and Andover, and the Concord one went well, but my grandmother felt that the interviewer was not engaged so I had another that went very well. I found the Milton personel to be the most friendly. I thought that Andover's campus was brilliant, and I preferred the feel of it, though Milton was beautiful too. Concord I liked, but not as much (in terms of architexture).

Name- Jonathan1
Age- 13
Grade- 8
Region/State of residence- Michigan
Schools applying to- Greenhills School
Admissions experience (so far)- I went to an open house last night and loved it. The students are very enthusiastic and want to be there. I was worried that they were full of rich kids whose parents just sent them there, but fortunately I was wrong.

Age- 14
Grade- 8
Region/State of residence- Florida
Schools applying to- Andover, Choate
Admissions experience (so far)-
I really fell in love with Choate - I could picture myself there. I was a little annoyed at Choate, however, because my interview began giving me time limits on my answers after I gave a lengthy response to one of his questions. However, the kids seemed nice, the buildings were great, and Choate has a lot of interesting English courses, and more acting/psychology courses than Andover does.

I liked Andover mainly because of its caliber of students. The kids there are known to be very opinionated, smart, and aware about the world - they are very mature, and I liked the idea of student independence. I was a little depressed by the campus (probably because it was a cloudy day) but I went through the town and found it to be great. My Andover interview was awesome.

That's about it. :) Any other suggestions for schools?

Olivia567 -- If you start a thread listing some of the things you are looking for in a school -- such as selection of English, psychology, and acting courses, I'm sure you will get many suggestions. You are wise to look at more than 2 very competitive schools. You might also consider a satety if your heart is set on boarding school.
