<p>We got married right after the tax season in 2012 so he had already filed his 2011 taxes. I didn't file any because I didn't work nor did I have papers (I do now).</p>
<p>For the summer, am I eligible for financial aid? I submitted fafsa and all but my college wants to verify. I know for sure that for fall I'm eligible to get financial aid because we filed 2012 taxes jointly.</p>
<p>For financial aid purposes, the 2012 tax information is what is requested, not 2011.</p>
<p>This summer counts for the 2012-2013 school year, so they want the 2011 taxes.</p>
<p>If you didn’t work, you are not required to file taxes. Ask your college for a nonfilers form. When you get to the section on the FAFSA for you, put that you won’t file.</p>
