Verification of Non Filing for 2011?

I've gone back and forth with my schools as well as the IRS a few times on this one, so if anyone can help me that would be great. I was chosen for verification by Cornell and they need 2011 tax return transcripts. Since I didn't file taxes, they need a non-filing verification from the IRS. I called the IRS and they told me I won't be able to obtain that until June 15th. I called Cornell and they told me the IRS was wrong...

I'm not sure where to go from here. I will be able obtain my parent's tax transcript by April, but not for the verification of non-filing.

If anyone has gone through this before and can explain what they did, that would be great!
Thanks!

Wow, that’s a new one on me. Usually, parents just complete the school’s non tax filer form and the school accepts that. Call them back, ask to speak with a financial aid officer, and explain what you were told by the IRS. Ask for their suggestion about what you should do. This can’t be the first time they have run into this, so they will have advice.
