@hodol2006 I emailed a UC representative and they said that I did a good job explaining my gaps in my additional comments section so they didn’t feel the need to contact me. It’s probably the same for you. Well, decisions come out soon so we will see what happens!
@Not2cool4school Tomorrow is the day! Wishing you the best!
Thanks! Good luck to you, too!
As promised, I’m here to report what happened!
Just want to help those in the future who may wonder why they didn’t get an email from UC to explain gaps in their education and if it means anything.
I ended up getting admitted to UCSB (tag), UCI, and UCLA!
Rejected from UCB and still waiting on UCSD but I already committed to UCLA!
So apparently getting the email or not getting it does not necessarily indicate whether or not you will be admitted
Yes, I did not get any email either even though I took one semester off after graduating high school. I also got into UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSB. Still pending on UCSD and waitlisted at UCI. Now, I surely can say college admissions are really random.
For future applicants, those who do not get an email to explain their gap years DO NOT need to worry about anything. You just explain well, so they do not ask for additional explanations.
@StudentAgain Congrats! UCLA is a great school!
@Not2cool4school Thank you! It was my top choice so I’m very happy about it! I hope you have a safe and happy move to wherever you go with your family
@StudentAgain Thanks!
