I’ll admit, I waited till the last minute to sign up for classes and now the only freshman writing seminars that aren’t full are the ones that sound terrible. I thought about waiting till second semester to take one, but I looked at YES and it looks like those ones are full too. Is there anything at all I can do? or am I doomed to take a class that I’ll probably hate?
The spring semester seminars aren’t up yet so they can’t be full. You can wait till spring or place yourself on the wait list for the ones that are offered this fall. You can also enroll in a first year writing seminar that you may not like now, go for a couple of classes and then drop it if you don’t like it at all. Some classes may not sound great on paper, but you might actually enjoy it. Worst case scenario- you can always take one in the spring.
What ones are still left? I took a look at the ones at the following link:

and, outside of the gender-oriented ones, most of them looked interesting enough.
