So I was wondering, do the majority of Freshman take a Freshman seminar? Also, are there (good) reasons for why one wouldn't take one?

Yeah all of my friends took a seminar. I highly doubt there’s not at least one you’re interested in (or wouldn’t mind using to fulfill a distribution requirement), so the only reason I can think of not to take one is that you absolutely must take four other courses for some reason.

Ok thank you. No there are definitely seminars I am interested in. It was just that between requirements for pre-med, the foreign language requirement and writing seminar, I felt sort of pigeon-holed if you know what I mean

If you have writing seminar in the fall, then it might be better to hold off and take a freshman seminar in the spring (unless there’s a fall seminar you’re just dying to take). That way you’re guaranteed at least one small class each semester.
