Didn't pay Housing Deposit. What do I do/Where do I go?

The title, pretty much.

I didn't really have a handle on the whole housing process. When I found out I had to pay the deposit, I tried to contact my parents, but they were abroad. I didn't have enough funds to cover it and still be able to eat (I have a debit card and my parents replenish it from time to time to pay for my food and general needs.) Therefore, the deposit did not get paid. What happens to me now? Can I still apply for housing with my potential roommates if we're using one of their numbers?

(I am a current sophomore applying for housing for the fall semester)

Thank you for your help!

Maybe, you’re definitely not the first student to have this issue. Email/Contact housing ASAP. In the mean time, give your friends your NEU info so they can add you to their room.

The answer on if you can live with your particular roommates will be (nearly certain) no. You can only get a lottery number if you apply by a certain time. You can only live on campus if you get a lottery number. Even people who do pay on time don’t always get lottery numbers. So if four people want to live together, but only three get lottery numbers-- those three can live on campus using the best number, but the fourth person has to move off campus.

So call housing. Beg a lot. Cry into the phone. Write sorrowful emails. But start looking for roommates for off campus housing.
