Didn't put hispanic on everything?

So i sent in all of my applications and on the common app i put down that i was hispanic. I qualify for this but i didn't know until recently if i technically "counted" because i wasn't so clear on the definition of hispanic. I haven't always put down that i am hispanic on standardized tests or school reports, etc. I can't really remember but i might have put it down for some things, but i think for the most part i didn't. I am kind of freaking out because i'm worried colleges will think i am lying but i just never thought to put it down before. I also don't have a spanish name because mixed heritage so they won't know that way. So my question is will colleges check and follow up with this and will they assume i'm lying and will this hurt my chances? Thanks!

If they note the inconsistency, I doubt they will assume that you are lying. They may contact your school for clarification so you might want to have a conversation with your guidance counselor to make sure he/she is aware of your status as a URM.

Our kids were not listed as URMs in some venues where we felt it would work against them. In other venues such as college applications, the URM designation was included. No one ever noted the discrepancy (or at least, no one ever asked.)
