I've been accepted to both Florida State University and Florida International University dietetic programs for the Spring 2007 semester. However I'm not sure which school I should go to, obviously FSU has more of a reputation than FIU however, FIU courses seem to be more demanding and they showed interest in me from the get go.

Does anyone know where I can maybe go and see how employers feel of the schools and which you think would prepare me better for the highly competetive internships required after graduation to become a dietitian.

Well, I have a bit of bias as my freshman daughter just entered Florida State with a major of Dietetics. I would suggest going to the place where you have the greatest educational opportunity at the lowest expense. In this regard, Tallahassee is less expensive than Miami. Consider the quality of life as well in terms of travel to/from school, crime and so forth in addition to tuition expense.

Remember that as you get into a program you may change your mind and decide it's not for you. A more comprehensive university has more to offer. Individual research opportunities are very extensive at FSU; I have one daughter in biochemistry and then the freshman. Both selected Florida State over all other Florida schools, including UF.

It appears FSU's program is one of the highest rated in the US:

College of Human Sciences:

G - Nutrition 25
UG - Dietetics 12
UG - Home Economics (Human Sciences) 7
UG - Nutrition 17

Further, if you take the Dietetics track at FSU requiring Organic Chemisty I think you'll find it quite demanding as Organic Chem is maybe one of the most demanding courses at any university.

Both have accredited programs per the American Dietetic Assn.
