Dietetics Program at FSU

There was a question about the Dietetics program at Florida State some time ago.

Here's the FSU College of Human Sciences website for undergraduate Dietetics.

See: http://www.chs.fsu.edu/nfes/undergraduate_dietetics.php

The program is highly ranked:

College of Human Sciences:

G - Nutrition 25
UG - Dietetics 12
UG - Home Economics (Human Sciences) 7
UG - Nutrition 17

Thank you for finding those numbers. My D2 (rising Junior)is will be applying to FSU next year and is currently researching good dietetics programs. Wow, rated 12 for UG Dietetics...that is very impressive. Do you know where we could find out which other schools rated in the top 30 for dietetics?

I haven't found additional lists of ranked programs yet - but it appears that all (university) Dietetics programs must be accredited through the American Dietetic Association (www.eatright.org).

FSU's Dietetic Program is fully accredited:

http://www.eatright.org/cps/rde/xchg/ada/hs.xsl/CADE_1607_ENU_HTML.htm

It appears that accreditation by the ADA is not automatic.

My D2 (amusing term :-) ) is a freshman at FSU this fall. She's studying Dietetics as well. I'll keep you posted on the program, but so far it looks very nice. No cake-walk, though...

There appear to be two tracks - one with Organic Chemistry (and pre-reqs) and one with a survey of organic. My daughter intends to take the Organic track, as it appears it will enable a better scientific grounding in the field.

in response to a recent question...
